DBS was founded by media industry professional Gary Jacobs in 2009. Gary produced his first video in 2008 for SkopeMag.com covering Billboard chart recording artist Unwritten Law. Since then, Gary’s work has appeared on CNBC, PBS, NowThis Earth, The View, Good Morning America, Returning the Favor with Mike Rowe, Fox5 News San Diego, KGTV News [ABC San Diego], and more.
Gary has filmed, produced and/or edited several hundred videos for companies like Samsung, FICO, HP, etc, and has worked as a creative partner for Yelp & Zillow advertisers producing videos for Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate, Frank Subaru, Toyota of El Cajon, and so many more.
Life must be fulfilled with passion projects like the Mt. Baldy Fire Department for a fundraising video, which was produced by Emmy Award Winner Andy Edwards. As well as a series of videos for a San Diego food pantry called It's All About The Kids Foundation, which has served over 3 Million meals to people in need in the three years since covid hit.
Gary’s specialties range from pre-production to filming, and post production. He has hundreds of hours operating DJI Ronins, and as a FAA 107 licensed drone pilot, he has hundreds of hours flying drones large and small.
He has a background in marketing with strong knowledge of social media, SEO, etc. Far from just the video guy behind the camera, he can identify how best to complement your marketing strategy with videos. As well as help you get the best SEO results from your videos.
Gary earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Media Communications from media centric Full Sail University. Full Sail grads work on just about every major Hollywood production. Gary also has professional certificates in Marketing, as well as Digital & Social Media, from San Diego State University. Always in search of new ways to tell great stories, Gary continues his filmmaking development through the Sundance Institute and their staff of Oscar and Emmy award winners.
